Anatomy of a Man Purse
Today marks my first month in Brooklyn and I couldn’t be more excited. I hope you have enjoyed reading my stories about getting adjusted to life in the “bloggiest” neighborhood in the nation. Everyone here and in the city carries a bag, and in my efforts to assimilate into the crowd I’ve bought my own man purse to take everywhere with me. This is: Anatomy of a Man Purse.
I picked up a Manhattan Portage Europa Medium bag as my daily driver. They have a cult following around here, just like Brooklyn Industries. To compare it to Texas, it’s like choosing between a Ford and a Chevy. There is the Manhattan Portage Camp, and the Brooklyn Industries camp.
So what do you carry day to day you might ask? Well, I have a series of pictures as my bag as it unloads the arsenal of goods I tote with me everyday:
Contents clockwise from top left: Expandable IKEA bag, umbrella, Whole Foods canvas tote, notepad, accordian file folders, headphones, pill case, digital camera, books to read on the subway, sunglasses, Camelbak water bottle, Manhattan Portage bag, checkbooks and reading glasses.
The IKEA and Whole Foods bags are awesome to have because of the fact that you have to carry everything you buy with you home. Having a big bag with handles makes this task so much easier. Also, you’d be surprised at how often I use the water bottle. I’m always thirsty here. I think everything else is pretty explainatory.
That’s it for my man purse. What do you carry in your daily bag?

Hi. I go through a few of one¡¯s other posts and wished to understand in the event you would be interested in exchanging blogroll links?
By the way, it can soon hold that notebook I got you because I’m finally putting the damn thing in the mail. I’m terrible with gift-giving. Seriously, I should just stop trying.
it’s like looking into your soul….
While my man purse is not quite so trendy, and not really a purse so much as it is a Swiss Army messenger bag, it usually is just filled with papers and a padfolio. Essentially, it’s my briefcase.
Oh, and there’s pens, too. I like pens. Sometimes it has my phone and keys, too.
